On Friday, March 6th, I had the honor of speaking at the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Career Day. This is a valuable organization for professionals and students in the interior design industry.
More than 120 interior design students from 11 schools throughout Wisconsin attended the Career Day at the American Family Insurance facility in Madison.
The focus of my presentation was to help students determine where they start to build their personal brand and how to utilize social media channels to differentiate themselves.
I ended the presentation giving students a challenge to create a compelling virtual resume to let me know why I should hire them to decorate the interior of my home. Students have just seven (7) days to complete the challenge and I hope they take advantage of the opportunity to practice making their mark in a short period of time in order to get a job they want.
Thank you to ASID Wisconsin for having me as a guest speaker and best wishes to all of the students as they begin their careers!
