I wanted to give a shout-out to Donatos Pizza for a cool, yet simple, Twitter promotion that they ran today to increase their community.
Here is the Tweet they sent, notifying their current fan base of the promotion:
If you’re looking to increase awareness of your brand on Twitter, I suggest running a simple promotion such as this one that Donatos Pizza is running. It’s a simple strategy to encourage your followers to bring more traffic to your account, while offering them a potential reward in return.
Here are some examples of people that participated in the contest. Will they share their pizza with you?
Thank you Jason for sharing your pizza with @BrianGainor and I! Since you mentioned him in your pizza party, I forgot to mention the husband in mine…
If I win a pizza, I look forward to sharing it with these 6! Plus, @BrianGainor of course.
What do you think of the promotion? How would you expand upon it?
Neat idea.
It takes the chain letter approach but without the spam connotation.
Thanks for sharing Laura. I’m excited to see how this can be used in various situations.
Yeah, but a big fail to them for not awarding me a gift certificate even though I tweeted my tweet an hour before the last person selected.
Disclosure, I did misspell one person’s twitter handle (an easy thing to do), but I did tweet to them my correction shortly thereafter.
I guess what really irks me is that I’ve not had any responses from them. (Again, to be fair, I just recently set my account to private, so maybe they didn’t see my tweets at all.)
I don’t know, just sour grapes from a loyal customer.
