When I talk to people that have questions on developing their personal brand, one of the big questions they have is what social media platform they should start with.
Once you establish the social media platform you want to use most, you should also be asking yourself how each platform should be used to properly represent yourself.

Twitter is my “gateway” social media. It has lead me to create a personal blog http://www.amyjahns.wordpress.com as well as improved my linkedin profile

….and yes that was a bit of shameless website promotion, however my comments are the truth. 🙂
I wish I could have answered both personal blog and Twitter. Right now I used them both equally. I can definitely see myself using YouTube/Vimeo/Viddler more moving forward. The video streaming works well with where I would like to take my brand. Also, I just started using AudioBoo.fm for some short podcasts and I love it! You can send out audio tweets very quickly and effectively in order to deliver a more personable brand experience. Lastly, I was researching BlogTalkRadio.com as another option to further my brand. I am intrigued. Does anyone have experience using this platform? I would love some feedback!
Definitely Twitter. I spend more time there than any other social media network. However, I do like LinkedIn as well for my personal brand.
