It’s pretty incredible how fast time can go by. I am excited to return to my website and also embarrassed at the same time that I haven’t blogged since 2011. Yes, it is now 2014 and very soon to be 2015. Between that time I had the honor of working on some incredible projects, with some incredibly talented people, and also grew our family.

Here are my top 10 highlights to catch you up on what has happened since 2011…

  1. gmr_logoSince I last blogged, I had just started my career at GMR Marketing and in the 2.5 years to follow, worked with some of the most talented and knowledgeable people I know (including getting the chance to work with my husband, Brian Gainor). It’s true that they say you learn more in the workplace than you do in school and that’s because of the co-workers that teach you along the way. From launching a Samsung mobile app, to becoming a motorsports enthusiast and marketer with SPEED, to developing social media strategies for Blue Chair Bay Rum and Angostura Bitters, the most fantastic memories and insights to pass along as I continue my career.
  2. At GMR, I had the opportunity to lead the social media strategy for Angostura Bitters and travel to the Manhattan Cocktail Classic and Tales of the Cocktail events to capture and share some of the most tastiest content ever, with cocktail enthusiasts.
  3. 021812 SPEED Social GarageI never thought I would say “I am a NASCAR fan”. GMR got the opportunity to work with SPEED and participate in the emerging phenomenon of social TV and engage with motorsports fans both at the track and at home by launching a digital strategy that traveled me to numerous tracks across the country.
  4. Brian and I welcomed our first child, Clara Elizabeth, into the world on December 6, 2011. A day I will never forget when I first became a Mom as my life forever changed for the better. She continues to make me laugh every day.
  5. I’vKenny Chesney Blue Chair Bay Rume been lucky enough to be given unbelievable opportunities throughout my career and one of those was when we were asked to develop a social media strategy to help Kenny Chesney launch his new rum, Blue Chair Bay Rum. Sitting in a conference room in Nashville with Kenny’s manager and his numerous teams, was a moment I will never forget as we launched an awesome brand strategy during his stadium tours.
  6. It was an honor to serve on the Board for United Adworkers, the premier advertising club of Milwaukee, after being an intern for the organization back in college. I recommend all advertising professionals and students in Milwaukee become a member, of course.
  7. On May 16, 2013 I begged my doctor to allow us to welcome Garrett Samuel into the world instead of waiting for two more days. It has been a fun learning experience having a son after growing up with two sisters. He is the sweetest little boy I know and it melts my heart watching him and Clara together. Brian and I are incredibly blessed!
  8. Junior Achievement WisconsinJust as my life changed when I first became a mom, becoming a mom for the second time changed my viewpoint on life tremendously. Life got busier than we ever expected and I honestly missed my kids way too much. I loved my GMR family and was scared to death to leave an incredible job, but was thrilled to move on to work with Junior Achievement of Wisconsin part-time and utilize my experiences to help drive awareness for what they do for Wisconsin youth.
  9. As I continue to assist in leading the marketing and communications for Junior Achievement of Wisconsin on a part-time basis, it’s exciting to be bringing on more clients and doing what I love, helping brands and small companies with their social marketing and content development.
  10. I look forward to what’s to come in 2015 and I’m most excited to watch my family grow (in age and experiences for the time being) …
